Wednesdays – See dates below (6 PM to 9 PM): Doggy Happy Hour (Weather permitting), Joe’s Bar, 940 W. Weed St., Chicago.  Enormous dog-friendly patio plays host to one of our favorite spots for get-togethers with other dog enthusiasts.  Visit Joes Bar on the dates mentioned and bring your two- and four-legged friends. A portion of food and beverage proceeds benefit our animal shelter so come hungry and thirsty and enjoy great food and drink specials!  Love Your Pet Rescue is the guest shelter on these Wednesday dates:  July 7, August 11, and September 8.  Admission is FREE! Last Wednesdays – See dates below (5:30 PM to 8 PM): Furry Friends Summerfest (Weather permitting), Corner of Broadway & Thorndale, near the Broadway Armory Park, 5917 N. Broadway St., Chicago.  This is an open-air market for that is GREAT for families, children and pets!  There will be a host of pet-related businesses showcasing their programs and services.  This is a great mingling event for pet owners and pet enthusiasts!  So if you have a dog, are looking to adopt one, want to support your local animal shelters or just want to meet other animals lovers, come on out!  Love Your Pet Rescue will have a table there with our adoptable pets on these Wednesday dates:  June 30, July 28, and August 25.  Admission is FREE! Sunday, August 1 (11 AM to 11 PM): 35th Annual 14th Street Music Fest & BBQ
2400 W. 14th St. (Corner of 14th & Western Ave.), Chicago.  Fun for folks of all ages; Singles, couples, families & friendly dogs all welcome!! Meet dogs available for adoption from Love Your Pet Rescue. Live bands start about 3 PM and include blues, jazz, rock & pop.  Legendary delta crush blues guitarist Chainsaw Dupont, Russ Strapp, Marbin, Bad Kitty, Cameltoe Junkies, April’s Reign, Leftsetter, and more; DJ & karaoke by Kat in the Hat Productions.  Pony rides & air bounce for kids from County Line Farm & Pony Rides start at 12 PM. Face painting and balloon twisting by Marvelous Masks. Drinks and BBQ food from Water Hole Lounge, smoked & grilled meats and veggies from Meat Monster Mobile BBQ & Catering. $5 donation benefits Love Your Pet Rescue, a cage-free animal shelter.
